About the Wednesday Warriors

We’re a group that regularly mountain bikes in southwestern Virginia, scheduled and motivated by our esteemed leader, Glenn Young. Wednesday nights are a regular thing for us (hence the name). There’s almost always a group riding somewhere on Wednesday, followed by dinner and appropriate beverages nearby. It’s partly about biking, and partly about creating an excuse to hang out with friends at least once a week.

Since most of us hail from the Blacksburg/Christiansburg area, we most frequently ride the Poverty Creek trail system around Pandapas Pond in the Jefferson National Forest, but we also hit the trails at Mountain Lake, Dragon’s Back, Fort Lewis Mountain, Carvin’s Cove, Explore Park, Douthat State Park, and Price Mountain. If you’re into riding, show up on Wednesday and join us! The group is made up mostly of intermediate riders, but our speed and abilities vary, so if you’ve ridden technical trails before, you’ll probably fit in somewhere. It isn’t about “winning” or dropping people - we’re out to have a good time!
